Friedrich Nietzsche 2

Whenever I climb I am followed by a dog called 'Ego'.

If you know the why, you can live any how.

And once you are awake, you shall remain awake eternally.

Live dangerously.

Without forgetting it is quite impossible to live at all.

A thought comes when it will, not when I will.

He who climbs upon the highest mountains laughs at all tragedies, real or imaginary.

I change too quickly: my today refutes my yesterday. When I ascend I often jump over steps, and no step forgives me that.

One must be a sea, to receive a polluted stream without becoming impure.

Love, too, has to be learned.

There is an old illusion. It is called good and evil.

A thought, even a possibility, can shatter and transform us.

He who cannot put his thoughts on ice should not enter into the heat of dispute.

He who obeys, does not listen to himself!

The essence of all beautiful art, all great art, is gratitude.

Gautama Buddha 2

NOTHING IS FOREVER EXCEPT CHANGE

The past is already gone, the future is not yet here. There's only one moment for you to live, and that is the present moment

With our thoughts we make the world.

Attachment leads to suffering

Just as a snake sheds its skin, we must shed our past over and over again

It is a man's own mind, not his enemy or foe, that lures him to evil ways.

Be a lamp unto yourself. Work out your liberation with diligence.

be greatly aware of the present

The only real failure in life is not to be true to the best one knows.

Happiness does not depend on what you have or who you are, it solely relies on what you think.

The mind is everything. What you think, you become

Words have the power to both destroy and heal. When words are both true and kind, they can change our world

Work out your own salvation. Do not depend on others.

The wise man makes an island of himself that no flood can overwhelm.

Peace comes from within.Do not seek it without.

Lao Tzu 2

The snow goose need not bathe to make itself white. Neither need you do anything but be yourself.

To attain knowledge, add things everyday. To attain wisdom, remove things every day.

If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.

By letting go it all gets done.

Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it.

To a mind that is still the whole universe surrenders.

I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures.

Muddy water, let stand, becomes clear.

There is no greater danger than underestimating your opponent.

The Way to do is to be.

The best fighter is never angry.

Give evil nothing to oppose and it will disappear by itself.

Those who flow as life flows know they need no other  force.

Act without expectation.

He who controls others may be powerful, but he who has mastered himself is mightier still.

Osho 2

One just needs a little alertness to see and find out: Life is really a great cosmic laughter.

Find ecstasy within yourself. It is not out there. It is in your innermost flowering. The one you are looking for is you.

It's not a question of learning much. On the contrary. It's a question of UNLEARNING much.

All that is great cannot be possessed - and that is one of the most foolish things man goes on doing. We want to possess.

A little foolishness, enough 2 enjoy life, & a little wisdom to avoid the errors, that will do

In love the other is important; in lust you are important

There is no need of any competition with anybody. U R yourself, and as U R, U R perfectly good. Accept urself

A certain darkness is needed to see the stars

There exists no God. What exists is godliness, and that godliness surrounds you. We are all in the same ocean.

It is beautiful to be alone, it is also beautiful to to be in love, to be with people. And they are complementary, not contradictory.

Love is the goal, life is the journey.

It is a strange thing ,that every child is born with a closed hand , and every body dies with an open hand !

No thought, no mind, no choice just being silent, rooted in yourself.

In the space of no-mind, truth descends like light

A man who is 100% sane is dead.

Swami Vivekananda 2

Don't look back—forward, infinite energy, infinite enthusiasm,  infinite daring, and infinite patience then alone can great deeds be accomplished.

Truth can be stated in a thousand different ways, yet each one can be true.

Desire can be eradicated from the roots by firmly imbibing the four attributes of: Jnan, Atmanishtha, Vairagya, Dharma and the full  fledged devotion to God.

God did not give me everything that i wanted. But, He gave me everything that i needed!

He who struggles is better than he who never attempts.

The will is not free - it is a phenomenon bound by cause and effect but there is something behind the will which is free.

Serve man Serve god

GOD is to be worshipped as the one beloved, dearer than everything  in this and next life.

The present is determined by our past actions, and the future by the  present.

My Faith is in the Younger Generation, the Modern Generation, out of them will come my workers. They will work out the whole problem, like Lions.

If money help a man to do good to others, it is of some value; but if not, it is simply a mass of evil, and the sooner it is got rid of, the  better.

If there is something here that is not in the Vedas, that is your delusion. It does not exist.

A little of the infinite is projected into consciousness, and that we call,  our world.

The mother and the father are the causes of this body; so a man must undergo a thousand troubles in order to do good to  them.

There is salvation only for the brave.

Thích Nhất Hạnh 2

If you suffer and make your loved ones suffer, there is nothing that can justify your desire

The wave does not need to die to become water. She is already water.

Understanding means throwing away your knowledge.

Thanks to impermanence, everything is possible.

The past is gone, the future is not yet here, and if we do not go back to ourselves in the present moment, we cannot be in touch with life.

In true love, you attain freedom

The true miracle is not walking on water or walking in air, but simply walking on this earth

When you begin to see that your enemy is suffering, that is the beginning of insight

We have more possibilities available in each moment than we realize

Because of your smile, you make life more beautiful

At any moment, you have a choice, that either leads you closer to your spirit or further away from it

Breathing in, there is only the present moment.Breathing out, it is a wonderful moment

In true dialogue, both sides are willing to change

Only the present moment contains life

UG 2

understanding is the absence of the demand for understanding – now or tomorrow

freedom exists not in finding answers, but in the dissolution of all questions

Nature does not use anything as a model. It is only interested in perfecting the species. It is trying to create perfect species and not perfect beings.

It is fear that makes you believe that you are living and that you will be dead. What we do not want is the fear to come to an end. That is why we have invented all these new minds, new sciences, new talks, therapies, choiceless awareness and various other gimmicks.

When you are no longer caught up in the dichotomy of right and wrong or good and bad, you can never do anything wrong. As long as you are caught up in this duality, the danger is that you will always do wrong.

In nature there is no death or destruction at all. What occurs is the reshuffling of atoms. If there is a need or necessity to maintain the balance of 'energy' in this universe, death occurs.

All experiences, spiritual or otherwise, are the basic cause of our suffering

The body is not interested in anything you are interested in.And that is the battle that is going on all the time.

Teachings -Krishnamurti

“The Core of the Teachings” contains the essence of Krishnamurti’s work. It was written in London on October 21, 1980, and states in its entirety:

The core of Krishnamurti’s teaching is contained in the statement he made in 1929 when he said: ‘Truth is a pathless land’. Man cannot come to it through any organization, through any creed, through any dogma, priest or ritual, not through any philosophic knowledge or psychological technique. He has to find it through the mirror of relationship, through the understanding of the contents of his own mind, through observation and not through intellectual analysis or introspective dissection. Man has built in himself images as a fence of security — religious, political, personal. These manifest as symbols, ideas, beliefs. The burden of these images dominates man’s thinking, his relationships and his daily life. These images are the causes of our problems for they divide man from man. His perception of life is shaped by the concepts already established in his mind. The content of his consciousness is his entire existence. This content is common to all humanity. The individuality is the name, the form and superficial culture he acquires from tradition and environment. The uniqueness of man does not lie in the superficial but in complete freedom from the content of his consciousness, which is common to all mankind. So he is not an individual.

Freedom is not a reaction; freedom is not a choice. It is man’s pretence that because he has choice he is free. Freedom is pure observation without direction, without fear of punishment and reward. Freedom is without motive; freedom is not at the end of the evolution of man but lies in the first step of his existence. In observation one begins to discover the lack of freedom. Freedom is found in the choiceless awareness of our daily existence and activity. Thought is time. Thought is born of experience and knowledge which are inseparable from time and the past. Time is the psychological enemy of man. Our action is based on knowledge and therefore time, so man is always a slave to the past. Thought is ever-limited and so we live in constant conflict and struggle. There is no psychological evolution.

When man becomes aware of the movement of his own thoughts he will see the division between the thinker and thought, the observer and the observed, the experience and the experiencer. He will discover that this division is an illusion. Then only is there pure observation which is insight without any shadow of the past or of time. This timeless insight brings about a deep radical mutation in the mind.

Total negation is the essence of the positive. When there is negation of all those things that thought has brought about psychologically, only then is there love, which is compassion and intelligence.

In “The Last Talks”, Radhika Herzberger comments,

“He had set his face against the whole paraphernalia of organized religion – its dogma, churches, rituals, sacred books and gurus – since 1929 when he had written: ‘When Krishnamurti dies, which is inevitable, you will set about forming rules in your minds, because the individual, Krishnamurti, had represented to you the Truth. So you will build a temple, you will then begin to have ceremonies, to invent phrases, dogmas, systems of belief, creeds, and to create philosophies. If you build great foundations upon me, the individual, you will be caught in that house, in that temple, and so you will have to have another Teacher come and extricate you from that temple. But the human mind is such that you will build another temple around Him, and so it will go on and on.’
A tremendous volume of material exists documenting the philosophical investigations of Krishnamurti (or simply “K” as he is sometimes referred to) mostly in the form of recorded conversations and talks, although K also wrote several series of short essays and kept a personal journal at least twice in his life. He had dialogues and personal meetings with a wide variety of people from all kinds of backgrounds. An example of the far-ranging and probing dialogues he had is a series of conversations recorded in 1980 with theoretical physicist David Bohm that resulted in the publication of The Ending of Time and The Future of Humanity. These conversations are also available on audio tape and a subset of them on video and DVD as well. Two conversations with Swami Venkatesananda in Saanen explore the role of the guru and the fundamental paths of Hinduism. These conversations are also available on audio tape.

UG 1

Nature is busy creating absolutely unique individuals, whereas culture has invented a single mold to which all must conform. It is grotesque

Don't follow me, I'm lost

The plain fact is that if you don't have a problem, you create one. If you don't have a problem you don't feel that you are living

We are not created for any grander purpose than the ants that are there or the flies that are hovering around us or the mosquitoes that are sucking our blood

Only if you reject all the other paths can you discover your own path

The fact is that we don't want to be free. What is responsible for our problems is the fear of losing what we have and what we know

As long as you are not at peace with yourself, it is not possible for you to be at peace with others

Thích Nhất Hạnh 1

To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself

People have a hard time letting go of their suffering.Out of a fear of the unknown, they prefer suffering that is familiar.

Because you are alive, everything is possible.

Letting go gives us freedom, and freedom is the only condition for happiness. If, in our heart, we still cling to anything - anger, anxiety, or possessions - we cannot be free.

Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky. Conscious breathing is my anchor.

The seed of suffering in you may be strong, but don't wait until you have no more suffering before allowing yourself to be happy.

Many people think excitement is happiness.... But when you are excited you are not peaceful. True happiness is based on peace.

Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear.If we believe that tomorrow will be better,we can bear a hardship today.

If you love someone but rarely make yourself available to him or her, that is not true love.

Drink your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the world earth revolves - slowly, evenly, without rushing toward the future.

Life is available only in the present moment

We are here to awaken from our illusion of separateness.

If you love someone, the greatest gift you can give them is your presence

Compassion is a verb

Keeping your body healthy is an expression of gratitude to the whole cosmos — the trees, the clouds, everything

Gautama Buddha 1

In the end these things matter most: How well did you love? How fully did you live? How deeply did you let go?

However many holy words you read, however many you speak, what good will they do you if you do not act on upon them?

There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that kills.

You only lose what you cling to

Peace comes from within.Do not seek it without

Three things can not hide for long: the Moon, the Sun and the Truth.

No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.

Doubt everything.Find your own light

There is no path to happiness: happiness is the path

Your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

You will not be punished for your anger; you will be punished by your anger.

Pain is certain, suffering is optional

Nothing ever exists entirely alone; everything is in relation to everything else.

Lao Tzu 1

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.

Knowing others is intelligence;knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power. If you realize that you have enough, you are truly rich.

A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.

Those who know do not speak. Those who speak do not know.

When you are content to be simply yourself and don't compare or compete, everyone will respect you.

When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.

The truth is not always beautiful, nor beautiful words the truth.

Time is a created thing. To say 'I don't have time,' is like saying, 'I don't want to.

The best fighter is never angry.

Care about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner.

Stop thinking, and end your problems.

Act without expectation.

Friedrich Nietzsche 1

Without music, life would be a mistake.

It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages.

There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness.

You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.

Sometimes people don't want to hear the truth because they don't want their illusions destroyed.

I cannot believe in a God who wants to be praised all the time.

There are no facts, only interpretations.

The snake which cannot cast its skin has to die. As well the minds which are prevented from changing their opinions; they cease to be mind.

The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently.

Is man merely a mistake of God's? Or God merely a mistake of man?

There are no beautiful surfaces without a terrible depth.

A thought, even a possibility, can shatter and transform us.

Become who you are!

Hope in reality is the worst of all evils because it prolongs the torments of man.

There is more wisdom in your body than in your deepest philosophy.

Osho 1

Be — don't try to become

Be realistic: Plan for a miracle

Life begins where fear ends.

Truth is not something outside to be discovered, it is something inside to be realized.

Creativity is the greatest rebellion in existence.

The less people know, the more stubbornly they know it.

Courage Is a Love Affair with the Unknown

Nobody has the power to take two steps together; you can take only one step at a time.

They say: Think twice before you jump.I say: Jump first and then think as much as you want!

The real question is not whether life exists after death. The real question is whether you are alive before death.

Always remember to judge everything by your inner feeling of bliss.

Whatever you feel, you become. It is your responsibility.

Your whole idea about yourself is borrowed– borrowed from those who have no idea of who they are themselves.

I live my life based on 2 principles. One, I live as if today was my last day on earth. Two, I live today as if I am going to live forever.

To avoid pain, they avoid pleasure. To avoid death, they avoid life

Swami Vivekananda 1

You have to grow from the inside out.None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.

Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life; dream of it; think of it; live on that idea.Let the brain, the body, muscles, nerves, every part of your body be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success, and this is the way great spiritual giants are produced.

In a conflict between the heart and the brain, follow your heart.

The greatest sin is to think yourself weak

Anything that makes weak - physically, intellectually and spiritually, reject it as poison.

Strength is Life, Weakness is Death

The fire that warms us can also consume us; it is not the fault of the fire.

All the powers in the universe are already ours. It is we who have put our hands before our eyes and cry that it is dark.

Books are infinite in number and time is short. The secret of knowledge is to take what is essential. Take that and try to live up to it.

Desire, ignorance, and inequality—this is the trinity of bondage.

Take Risks in Your Life If u Win, U Can Lead! If u Lose, U Can Guide!

There is no limit to the power of the human mind. The more concentrated it is, the more power is brought to bear on one point

The brain and muscles must develop simultaneously.Iron nerves with an intelligent brain — and the whole world is at your feet.

A fool may buy all the books in the world, and they will be in his library; but he will be able to read only those that he deserves to.

Blessed are they whose bodies get destroyed in the service of others.

Swami Vivekananda's Chicago Speeches - 11th September 1893

Sisters and Brothers of America,

It fills my heart with joy unspeakable to rise in response to the warm and cordial welcome which you have given us.

I thank you in the name of the most ancient order of monks in the world;

I thank you in the name of the mother of religions, and I thank you in the name of millions and millions of Hindu people of all classes and sects.

My thanks, also, to some of the speakers on this platform who, referring to the delegates from the Orient, have told you that these men from far-off nations may well claim the honor of bearing to different lands the idea of toleration.

I am proud to belong to a religion which has taught the world both tolerance and universal acceptance. We believe not only in universal toleration, but we accept all religions as true.

I am proud to belong to a nation which has sheltered the persecuted and the refugees of all religions and all nations of the earth.

I am proud to tell you that we have gathered in our bosom the purest remnant of the Israelites, who came to Southern India and took refuge with us in the very year in which their holy temple was shattered to pieces by Roman tyranny.

I am proud to belong to the religion which has sheltered and is still fostering the remnant of the grand Zoroastrian nation.

I will quote to you, brethren, a few lines from a hymn which I remember to have repeated from my earliest boyhood, which is every day repeated by millions of human beings: "As the different streams having their sources in different paths which men take through different tendencies, various though they appear, crooked or straight, all lead to Thee."

The present convention, which is one of the most august assemblies ever held, is in itself a vindication, a declaration to the world of the wonderful doctrine preached in the Gita: "Whosoever comes to Me, through whatsoever form, I reach him; all men are struggling through paths which in the end lead to me."

Sectarianism, bigotry, and its horrible descendant, fanaticism, have long possessed this beautiful earth.

They have filled the earth with violence, drenched it often and often with human blood, destroyed civilization and sent whole nations to despair.

Had it not been for these horrible demons, human society would be far more advanced than it is now.

But their time is come; and I fervently hope that the bell that tolled this morning in honor of this convention may be the death-knell of all fanaticism, of all persecutions with the sword or with the pen, and of all uncharitable feelings between persons wending their way to the same goal.

The World's Parliament of Religions has become an accomplished  fact, and the merciful Father has helped those who labored to bring  it into existence, and crowned with success their most unselfish labor.

My thanks to those noble souls whose large hearts and love of truth  first dreamed this wonderful dream and then realized it.

My thanks to the shower of liberal sentiments that has overflowed  this platform

My thanks to this enlightened audience for their uniform kindness to me and for their appreciation of every thought that tends to smooth the friction of religions.

A few jarring notes were heard from time to time in this harmony.

My special thanks to them, for they have, by their striking contrast, made general harmony the sweeter.

Much has been said of the common ground of religious unity.

I am not going just now to venture my own theory.

But if any one here hopes that this unity will come by the triumph of any one of the religions and the destruction of the others, to him I say, "Brother, yours is an impossible hope.“

Do I wish that the Christian would become Hindu? God forbid.

Do I wish that the Hindu or Buddhist would become Christian?

God forbid.

The seed is put in the ground, and earth and air and water are placed around it.

Does the seed become the earth, or the air, or the water?

No.

It becomes a plant. It develops after the law of its own growth, assimilates the air, the earth, and the water, converts them into plant substance, and grows into a plant.

Similar is the case with religion.

The Christian is not to become a Hindu or a Buddhist, nor a Hindu or a Buddhist to become a Christian.

But each must assimilate the spirit of the others and yet preserve his individuality and grow according to his own law of growth.

If the Parliament of Religions has shown anything to the world, it is this: It has proved to the world that holiness, purity and charity are not the exclusive possessions of any church in the world, and that every system has produced men and women of the most exalted character.

In the face of this evidence, if anybody dreams of the exclusive survival of his own religion and the destruction of the others, I pity him from the bottom of my heart, and point out to him that upon the banner of every religion will soon be written in spite of resistance: "Help and not fight," "Assimilation and not Destruction,“"Harmony and Peace and not Dissension."

Mahatma Gandhi

Albert Einstein

If you can't explain it to a six year old, you don't understand it yourself.

I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.

Logic will get you from A to Z; imagination will get you everywhere.

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.

Any fool can know. The point is to understand.

You never fail until you stop trying.

In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity

Time is an illusion.

Genius is 1% talent and 99% percent hard work...

A ship is always safe at the shore - but that is NOT what it is built for.

Only those who attempt the absurd can achieve the impossible.

You can never solve a problem on the level on which it was created.

Student: Dr. Einstein, Aren't these the same questions as last year's [physics] final exam?
Dr. Einstein: Yes; But this year the answers are different.

Wisdom is not a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it.
